A burn ban is now in effect for Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock County Commissioners pass burn ban. The newest drought monitor map shows that Lubbock is not in drought, but the National Weather Service says that's misleading when it comes to judging fire danger.

Lubbock has received 26.46 inches of rain for 2010, and that is 7.93 inches above normal, but our last meaningful rainfall was back in October. Lubbock County has steadily increased in the number of grassfires every month this year, to a record of 58 grassfires in November.

TNT Fireworks are voluntary pulling stick rockets and missiles with fins. TNT is working with other firework companies to do the same.
