Lubbock police were called to the scene of a shooting at 2:08 p.m. Police say two men agreed to meet at Higinbothom Park near 18th and Utica Avenue. During the fight one pulled out a knife. Police say the knife wound victim then pulled out a gun and shot the other man.

Because of his previous criminal history, the Lubbock County Jail has a mug shot of Carlton Taylor, which seems to bear a resemblance to two surveillance images released by police and the FBI.

A former Lubbock Congressman will be honored this month. Larry Combest will receive the "Tribute to Texas Agriculture" award on January 26th at the Austin Club.
