Texas Tech student accidentally shot and killed

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Texas Tech student was accidentally shot and killed by a friend on New Year's morning.

Dallas police say 29-year-old Joshua Joe Brown of Abilene was killed when, after a night of drinking, a friend picked up a gun and it discharged, hitting brown in the face. The shooter was not arrested.

Josh is survived by his father, Charles John Ciotta and wife, Carol, of Buffalo, New York, and mother, Danna Cross and stepfather, Mike Cross, of Abilene.
