LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - According to online jail records, the Slaton man once accused of attempted murder is instead indicted for Aggravated Assault - Serious Bodily Injury.  Bond was set at $50,000 for Christopher Cearley, 26, to get out of jail.  As of Wednesday evening he had not bonded out.

Back in mid-December Slaton police arrested Cearley in the 1500 block of West Garza, and accused him at that time of attempted murder.  Police said he that he assaulted Gloria Flores, 28, by stabbing her face, head, arms and chest with a serrated knife.  Police also told us in mid-December that Flores is the mother of Cearley's children.
