Lubbock murder suspect arrested by SWAT in Amarillo

By James Clark - email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police and Amarillo Crimestoppers both say that Lubbock murder suspect Arenn Davis, 21, was located in Amarillo Friday afternoon.  He was arrested after voluntarily complying with commands from the Amarillo Police SWAT team at a residence in the 1200 block of Pecan Avenue.

Crimestoppers says, "Davis voluntarily walked out of the house and was taken into custody."

Davis was the only suspect still on the run from the December shooting death of Brian Brinson, 52.  Brinson once made national news for his participation in a cult-like group called Ecclesia Athletic Association, which was involved in the beating death of a young girl and no longer exists.

Davis will be held temporarily in the Potter County Correctional Center until he is transferred to the Lubbock County jail.  Devante Jones, 18, and a 16-year-old have already been taken into custody in Lubbock.
