Lubbock man attacked by pit bull

Posted: Updated:

Lubbock, TX (KCBD) -   A Lubbock man is recovering Saturday at Covenant after he was attacked by a pit bull. The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office says Troy Luttrell, a retired Lubbock firefighter, was attacked by a dog on his property.

The attack happened Friday in the 8800 block of Private Road 7355 on a lot owned by Luttrell. Luttrell tells us he went to put a note on a trailer, but as he got out of his truck the pit bull went under a chain linked fence and attacked him.

Luttrell was bit on his arm and leg. The sheriff's department tells us dog's owner took the pit bull to a veterinarian for mandatory 10 day quarantine. No word on possible charges the owner may face.
