A Bit Of Hollywood Coming To Lubbock?

Lubbock International Airport may soon be home to some technical wizards from Hollywood.

Bob Wilcox and Josef Joebstl, owners of Jetcat and Airstar International, toured a hanger at LIA Tuesday afternoon. Wilcox spent 20 years building scale-sized models for Hollywood films such as 'Iron Eagle' and 'Godzilla'. The two men now produce scale-sized aircraft and jet engines, and are considering moving their operations to Lubbock.

"I personally looked into three areas so far this has got the greatest advantage because of the location, central to America," said Joebstl.

"We usually have a core of about eight people and we scale up to about 40 when we're very busy," said Wilcox.

The business partners are also considering Carson City, Dallas, Atlanta, and Florida. No word yet on when they'll make their final decision.
