LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock has gone out for bids on a major expansion of Quaker Avenue between 114th Street and F.M. 1585, which a one-mile stretch. When complete that portion of Quaker will be three lanes in each direction and a turn lane in the middle. The construction phase of the project is budgeted for $6 million. Bids are due on February 14th. Once construction begins, it is estimated to take 220 working days, which is a little less than a year.
