LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A man pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon threat charge Tuesday.  According to online jail records 46-year-old Rene Perales Garcia was sentenced to 18 years.

Police reports indicate Garcia threatened a 32-year-old woman with multiple weapons outside of a convenience store window where she worked.  It was on December 9, 2009, and officials say she was his ex girlfriend.

Garcia forced open the locked doors to the business and assaulted the woman. The woman refused medical treatment at the time of the incident. Garcia was then located, arrested, transported and booked in the city holding facility.

Garcia is now behind bars for this charge, but this isn't the first time he has been in jail. According to court records, Garcia has a laundry list of offenses from aggravated sexual assault on a child, resisting arrest, to other aggravated assaults and burglary. Court records show Garcia has been in and out of jail since the late 1990's.
