Lubbock man is being charged with aggravated assault

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – An arrest warrant reveals new details about a December shooting in southwest Lubbock. Police arrested 35-year-old Norman Anderton just after midnight December 29th.

Anderton is being charged with aggravated assault for a shooting at his home near 89th and Iola. Police say Anderton and his wife were arguing when he shot her twice with a handgun. She suffered non-life threatening injuries. Xochitl Anderton is a well known dentist. KCBD NewsChannel 11 interviewed her in 2007 for HealthWise.

The arrest warrant, just recently issued, states Norman Anderton was calm and joking while authorities gathered information. Anderton has since bonded out of jail. He's charged with three counts of assault.
