Defective car door may be the cause of one woman's injuries

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A woman is in critical condition after she fell out of a moving SUV. Police say the accident happened near the intersection of 4th and Frankford.

Officers believe there was an argument in the car, and Maria Ortega climbed into the back from the front seat, where it is believed that she leaned on the door, and she fell out. After she fell out officers say she was ran over.

Accident investigators believe a defective door may be to blame. Ortega was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
