LUBBOCK (KCBD) - Senior Mike Singletary (Texas Tech) and freshman Josh Selby (Kansas) have been selected the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for games of January 24-30 in voting by a panel of media covering the Conference. It is the first careerweekly honor for Singletary, while Selby is named top rookie for the second time.

Singletary gives Texas Tech its first weekly honor of the season after leading his team to wins at Iowa State (92-83) and over Oklahoma State (75-74 in overtime). The senior forward recorded 29.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game after entering the week averaging just 9.8 points in league play. He started with 33 points, 10 rebounds and six assists versus the Cyclones, connecting on 12-of-18 field goals.
In that contest, he became the first player in Big 12 history to finish with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a conference game. He followed that performance with 25 points, seven rebounds and two assists in the overtime victory over the Cowboys. For the week, he shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the floor and 91.3 percent (21-of-23) from the free throw line.
The Red Raiders host Kansas Tuesday at 8 p.m. before taking on Texas in Austin on Saturday evening.
