LUBBOCK (KCBD) Texas Tech head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry has announced that sophomore forward Marissa Ashton has decided to leave the women's basketball program and will transfer to another university at the end of the academic school year.
"Marissa has decided to transfer from Texas Tech," said Curry. "She will finish out the semester, but will no longer be a part of our program. We support her and wish her the best in her future endeavors."
The 6-0 forward from LaMarque, Texas, (Dickinson HS), has played in just 12 games this season, averaging 0.8 points and 1.3 rebounds.
As a policy, Curry will not comment on this issue now or in the future.
