A Boeing 767 en route from Dallas-Fort Worth to Honolulu, Hawaii made an emergency landing at Lubbock International Airport Friday morning.
The American Airlines jet contacted Lubbock's control tower at 11:12 a.m. The pilot asked for permission to land because one of its passengers was apparently having a heart attack. Just 14 minutes later, the plane and its 213 passengers were on the ground.
Emergency crews moved the victim, William McLaughlin, Sr., off the plane and onto the tarmac. Aerocare then brought McLaughlin to Covenant Medical Center. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
