An east Lubbock house is destroyed by fire early Friday evening.
Firefighters got the call about 7pm and arrived to find a vacant house fully engulfed in flames and with lots of smoke. Firefighters from several stations battled the blaze for more than an hour.
Meanwhile, temperatures at that time were still close 100 degrees, so a rehab vehicle and EMS crews were standing by to care for the health of the firefighters.
The Lubbock Fire Marshall's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
