A Lubbock man was arrested Sunday after trying to steal a car then fleeing from police.
Just before 4:00 p.m., 37 year-old David Brasfield tried to take a vehicle from the Kirckpatrick Ranch. A chase started as Brasfield fled the scene in his own car.
The chase lasted almost 30 minutes and reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour before DPS shot out one of Brasfield's tires. The chase ended one mile south of the Crosby-Garza County line where Garza County Troopers arrested Brasfield.
He is being treated at University Medical Center for an excessive amount of narcotics in his system. Charges are pending in Garza County and Crosby County. They include evading arrest, driving under the influence, and possession of meth.
