Local Soldier Returns Home from War on Terrorism

As military families across the nation are reuniting, a Lubbock family is celebrating. The Trattles family held a welcome home party for their soldier on Sunday.

21 year-old Sergeant Patric Trattles returned home Saturday from Operation Enduring Freedom. Patric spent eight and a half months in Afghanistan as a scout with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and says it's an experience he will never forget.

"Makes you take, you know, what you have here, you don't take it for granted anymore, since I have been over there and seen lot of people that have it a lot worse than us," says Trattles.

Patric will be home for 10 days before returning to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
