LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A restaurant chain, Firehouse Subs, Monday morning donated equipment worth more than $1,600 to local volunteer firefighters. The donation was a set of emergency lights (called a "Torrent Light Bar") for a fire truck.
Each Firehouse Subs restaurant recycles leftover five-gallon pickle buckets and sells them to customers for $2. That money is then donated to fire departments. Each restaurant also places a donation bucket near the cash register to collect additional donations from customers.
