Lubbock Grand Jury Hands Down Burglary and Assault Indictments

Between late May and July Lubbock Police believe at least seven burglaries were committed by six men in the Tech Terrace area. Last month NewsChannel 11 told you warrants were issued for their arrests and as of Tuesday evening a Lubbock Grand Jury indicted them.

Michael Purtell, Justin Alvarez, Winford Mullins Junior, Tenola Lang, and Brian Helmers were indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury Tuesday. Each was charged with organized crime. According to police, the suspects have either been implicated or confessed, to the multiple burglaries of homes. David Appolito was also indicted on an organized crime charge. Lubbock Police beleive he was the buyer of the stolen merchandise. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

A Lubbock Grand Jury also returned a two count indictment against 40-year-old Cody Breshers. He is charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.  Breshers is accused of driving drunk and causing a head on collision that killed 17-year-old Andrew Trevino, July 3rd.
