LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Starting Monday, you can expect tighter security at the Lubbock County Courthouse.
Similar to airport screenings, you will have to empty your pockets and anything you carry into the building. Along with screenings of the items brought into the courthouse, persons may be subject to walk through a metal detector. Sheriff Kelly Rowe says the tightened security procedures will keep individuals and employees safe.
The Courthouse doesn't expect any major delays from the screening process. Some of the prohibited items include, nail clippers, knives, razor blades, and firearms. Sheriff Rowe says people will be required to take the items that are not allowed into their vehicle before they will be allowed inside the building.
