Lubbock ISD school teachers and other employees will see a pay raise this year. It's part of the Lubbock Independent School District's budget. During the school board meeting, school finance officials talked about the $4.6 million they budgeted for salary increases.
Teachers who have one to five years with L.I.S.D. will see a $1,000 raise. Those with six to 15 years, a $1,250 raise. And teachers who have 16 years or more will see a $1,750 increase.
Earlier, the state cut $500 out of the supplement employees receive for health insurance. L.I.S.D. board members say the salary increase is to help offset that loss in pay.
