Lubbock Man Wanted On Drug Charge Captured Thursday

The U.S. District Court in the Western District of Texas issued a warrant for the arrest of 39-year-old John Patrick Morales and he is now in the Lubbock County Jail charged with conspiracy of cocaine.

Morales is accused of participating with a group of people in the distribution of cocaine. A Sheriff's unit spotted Morales in his pick up at 50th & Chicago Tuesday afternoon. After his arrest, the Drug Enforcement Administration searched two Lubbock homes. NewsChannel 11 was there when the Sheriff's Department arrived with a search warrant at a home near 92nd Street & Avenue X.

Lonny Watson, the Resident Agent in charge of the DEA, here in Lubbock, tells NewsChannel 11 the other home searched was located on 85th Street. Watson did not release any details of what was confiscated at either of the homes.

Morales is expected to go before a U.S. Magistrate Judge Wednesday morning. An investigation is ongoing.
