LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A weak cold front pushing south across the South Plains today will bring only slight cooling to your neighborhood. Even with the front, temperatures tonight will remain mostly unchanged. That is largely a function of an increase in humidity that will continue through the weekend. Even with the cooling today's highs and tonight's lows will be well above average for Lubbock, 59 and 30 degrees, respectively.
With the increased humidity, low clouds will be likely and areas of fog possible Saturday morning, especially east of the Caprock. Clouds and fog are more likely Sunday morning on the Caprock, which would include the Lubbock area.
Weekend temperatures will remain well above seasonal norms, but Monday -- Presidents' Day -- will return to more typical levels behind a late Sunday cold front. Still, outside of misting with fog, no precipitation is in sight.
This morning partly cloudy and cool with a northeast breeze of 5 to 15 mph. Early morning temperature in the low 40s.
This afternoon partly cloudy and mild with a southeast breeze of 5 to 15 mph and a high around 76 degrees.
Tonight partly cloudy and mild. Areas of low clouds and fog possible, especially east of the Caprock. Low in the low to mid 40s.
Saturday partly sunny with a high in the mid 70s.
Sunday partly cloudy and windy. Morning low in the upper 40s. Afternoon high in the mid to upper 70s.
Presidents' Day mostly sunny, windy and cooler with a high in the upper 50s.
