Stabbing Leaves One Dead and Three Others Injured

A Lubbock man was killed and three others were injured during a fight at a Lubbock party early Saturday morning. Around 1:00 a.m., Lubbock Police responded to reports of a loud party at 1819 East 1st Place.

Just an hour later, a fight broke out. When police arrived at the scene the second time, 22 year-old Roberto Esquivel was lying in the front yard with multiple stab wounds. Esquivel did not have a pulse and was lying in a pool of blood when police found him. He died on the way to the hospital.

A blood trail led police to a nearby driveway where they found 31 year-old Collie Willard. Although Willard told police he was stabbed in the neck by an unknown attacker, police believe he is a suspect in the stabbings. Willard was transported to University Medical Center and is in satisfactory condition.

22 year-old Valerie Salazar and 26 year-old Dana Puente were also cut. Salazar had one inch cuts on her lower right jaw and her right forearm. Puente had a minor cut on her left index finger.
