LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – With the new Census numbers out, what will Lubbock's representation in Austin look like?
Representative Charles Perry says Lubbock faired well with the 2010 Census, and grew at the expense of some of the smaller towns. While he says politics can change day to day, he expects District 83 and 84 to stay intact with only minor changes the house will vote on a redistricting bill, which the senate must approve. Representative Perry expects bills on re-districting to come out of committee sometime in March.
The City's Redistricting Advisory Committee will meet a week from Monday at the Civic Center to set a time and date for a series of public meetings about district lines.
