LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock doctor is disciplined by the Texas Medical Board. Doctor Rolando Nagar Torio is accused of not following the instructions in a previous Medical Board order. So he is now ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and take 48 hours of continuing medical education. "At least eight of the 48 hours must include ethics," the order says.
Dr. Torio was under orders in February 2010 to pay a fine for not having proof of continuing education. TME accuses Torio of not paying the fine. A public statement on Wednesday by TME says, "The Board found Dr. Torio engaged in unprofessional conduct when he failed to comply with a Board order." The most recent order says that Torio is now the subject of a public reprimand.
