Fire near Shallowater threatens buildings

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) A grass fire in shall water Wednesday evening threatened near-by storage sheds.

Fortunately crews from Shallowater and West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Departments doused the flames before any damage was done. The fire started around 5:00 p.m. at Highway 84 and Avenue L in Shallowater.

The fire chief wasn't sure what actually sparked the blaze, but he says with such dry conditions, any small spark can cause a big problem.
