Local Wrestlers grappling at State

6 South Plains wrestlers are in Austin looking to pin down a State title, including 180 pound wrestler Dillon Rouse. The Coronado Mustang Senior has amassed an impressive undefeated record going 27-0 en route to winning the Regional title. He's excited to test his skills against the best in State.

Other area wrestlers qualifying for State are Ernesto Mendez of Lubbock High who is 24-2 at 130lbs. Broderick Wiggins of Lubbock High is 24-5 at 171 lbs, Monterey's Robert Rios is 26-2 at 189 pounds and Plainsmen Austin Warren is 25-1 at 285 pounds.

The lone local female going to state is Coronado's Lyndsey Dean, who is 15-3 at 215 pounds.

Action starts Friday morning and KCBD NewsChannel 11 wishes all of our wrestlers good luck in Austin.
