Governor Perry Pardons Tulia Drug Defendants

On Friday Texas Governor Rick Perry pardoned the 35 people convicted in the discredited 1999 Tulia drug busts. The Texas Board of Pardons and paroles last month unanimously recommended the pardons. Most of the people who were arrested are black.

The convictions were obtained through the work of one white undercover agent by the name of Tom Coleman. He now faces perjury charges.
