Near Shoestring Hanging Ruled An Accident

Almost two weeks ago, a 5-year-old was found in her home hanging by a shoestring. On Friday, Lubbock police ruled it an accident.

Sgt. Scott Farmer with the Lubbock Police Department says there was no sign of foul play. The child's mother found her tied to a door knob inside their home at 17th and Avenue M.

The child is in stable condition, but will undergo extensive rehabilitation.
