Memorial fund set up for a man hit by a truck

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) –A memorial fund has been set up to help the family of a man who was hit by a truck Friday morning while crossing the street.  67 year-old Randolpho Baca died on the scene after a pick up truck struck him near the intersection of North University and Amherst.

Baca's family says he would take off walking in the morning for breakfast. Lt. Jon Caspell says the driver, John Stewart, was traveling south on University and didn't see Baca walking. Police say Stewart has been very cooperative and they don't anticipate any criminal charges. Baca's family says this is a tragic accident, but they are not angry at the driver. The family wants to bury him at Peaceful Gardens in Woodrow and are trying to raise money to make that happen.

If you would like to make donations, Wells Fargo Bank has a memorial fund set up under the name of Teodoro Flores.
