LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock County Commissioners on Monday approved a 4-way stop at South University Avenue and Woodrow Road.
A TxDOT study shows the intersection is busy enough to justify changing it from a two-way stop to a four-way stop. Officials hope to not only make the intersection safer, but also to even out the flow of traffic, which sometimes backs up along University Avenue. (University is known as County Road 2200 south of Lubbock city limits.)
The new stop will become effective on March7th.
Officials say other intersections such as Woodrow Road at Indiana Avenue do not meet the traffic flow requirements for a 4-way stop.
