LUBBOCK, TX - The City of Lubbock has deactivated its Emergency Operations Center after yesterday's extreme fire danger.
Although the extreme threat of fire has lessened, the Deputy Chief of Emergency Operations Lewis Treadwell is cautioning everyone who might think there is no more danger.
"We still have a tremendous amount of dry grass that could ignite with a spark," said Treadwell. "The fuel (dry grass) is there. We're asking everyone to continue to use common sense and help avoid accidentally starting a fire."
