Baby Dies After Weekend Car Accident

A 3-month-old baby boy died Monday morning, as the result of injuries received in a car wreck over the weekend.

According to police reports, the child's mother and driver of the car, 19-year-old Patricia Marcelino, was speeding, swerved and left the road. She then overcorrected and slammed into a pole.

The child's autopsy results are expected back on Tuesday. This is the city's 21st traffic related fatality of the year.
