LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A teenage mother will go to trial on charges that she severely injured her infant daughter.
Grand jury members indicted 19-year-old Jasmine Francis for injury to a child. The one-month-old was taken to the hospital last month, after her grandmother noticed an injury to the baby's head. Doctors found the baby had a fractured skull and a brain hemorrhage. The infant then had a stroke.
According to the arrest warrant, Frances told police that the baby got hurt when she ran into a wall while holding the little girl. She is being held on a $150,000 bond.
