LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock ISD officials are investigating a case of "tagging" which is a slang term for graffiti. One or more persons painted a vulgar insult from "CHS" to "MHG" on an outside wall of Monterey High School Wednesday morning. The vulargarity in question was misspelled as a three-letter word instead of four letters.
Lubbock ISD already has equipment to remove graffiti and so the cost to the school is negligible according to a spokesperson.
Officials do not know yet who is responsible nor do they know if the graffiti is a continuation of a conflict last week between students of Coronado and Monterey High Schools. LISD says graffiti of a school or a church can be charged as a felony and there will be "severe consequences."
