WOLFFORTH TX, (KCBD) – Frenship ISD says they currently have no plans to lay off staff, even with massive budget cuts proposed in Austin.

Andy Penney told KCBD NewsChannel 11 that barring any drastic circumstance he believes the district can manage any reductions. "We feel like we can manage this without having to lay off any personnel at all," he said.

Penney said that with the opening of Heritage Middle School they hope to be able to move staff around to the new school to avoid any lay offs.

Frenship ISD fulfilled a commitment to cut $300,000 in non-payroll expenditures last year and they hope to be able to continue cutting from those areas before looking into the possibility of cutting staff.
