LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - In a rematch of last year's Class 1A Division I State Title, Smyer held on to beat Martin's Mill 52 to 49 to capture back-to-back State Championships.
The Lady Cats beat Martin's Mill 49 to 41 last year for their first State title.
The 2011 game was a back and forth thriller. Junior Haley Fowler led Smyer with 27 points while Kennedy Farr put in 17.
This year Smyer only lost 2 games, a 1 point loss to 3A Levelland and a 2 point setback to 2A Littlefield.

Saturday night, the Whitharral Lady Panthers face Neches at 7pm for the 1A Division II State Title.
On the boys side, Idalou, Muleshoe, Anton, Paducah and Ira are in regional finals today and will head to State if they win.
