School is back in and that means inspectors headed back to the classroom, or the cafeteria as the case may be.

Bayless Elementary leads the charge at 2115 58th Street. The cafeteria there earns a perfect score making them a Food for Thought Top Performer.

Next on the Top Performing list it's Haynes Elementary School at 3802 60th Street also with zero critical violations.

KFC at 6411 West 19th Street. They earn a perfect score this week making them a Food for Thought Top Performer. Management at the restaurant says their original recipe for success includes good management and staff members who are constantly working together to keep their good clean habits intact.

Also in this week's Top Performing club is the bakery at Sam's. Located at 4304 West Loop 289, they've baked up a perfect score with zero critical violations.

This week's only Low Performer is Hi D Ho at 5710 58th Street with four critical violations. Violations including:

  • Cheese found at 52 degrees.
  • Ready to eat potentially hazardous food items were found with no date mark.
  • A reach in cooler was found at 52 degrees.
  • A spray bottle containing toxic material was not labeled.

The management at Hi D Ho had no comment on their inspection. The report shows that 2 violations were corrected on site.
