LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - TxDOT is looking for volunteers all over Texas, including Lubbock, for the state's largest one-day annual cleanup.  Saturday, April 2nd is the Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off.

TxDOT says, "There are approximately 1.1 billion pieces of litter on Texas highways."

Last year more than 74,000 volunteers cleared litter from more than 6,000 miles of roadway. Volunteers are asked to sign up by March 25th at the Keep Texas Beautiful web site, www.ktb.org, or call 1-800-CLEAN-TX.  This just happens to be the 25th anniversary of the Don't Mess With Texas campaign.
