Lubbock Police released these pictures of the suspect in action. Colored pictures are from Albertson's cameras, the black and white from the surveillance cameras inside the American State Bank branch.
Bank workers told police the suspect was calm, not making a big scene, but "He threatened to have a firearm but did not display one," said Crime Scene Investigator, Tony Gribben.
The hold up happened around 11 a.m. "The actor (suspect) walked up to the service desk, verbalized he wanted money. At that point, he handed over a bag to one of the tellers. They did what he said then he took the bag and exited the building on the West side doors," said Frank Picon, Lubbock Police Sergeant.
It wasn't long ago when this same bank location was robbed. Back in April of last year, a black man, similar in size to the man police are looking for in this incident, walked inside, demanded money. The suspect threatened tellers with a pipe bomb. According to police, that man was never caught.
Police say today's bank robber used a bright yellow Dollar General bag to carry the money. Police are looking for a black man in his early 20's who is 5'8" has a medium build. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue wind pants at the time of the crime.
He was also wearing a baseball cap with a Playstation emblem with a towel underneath the cap. If you have any information you're urged to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
