Lubbock Prepares For 9-11 Tribute

A delivery of more than 3,000 flags brings Lubbock one step closer to setting up one of the biggest 9-11 memorials in the country.

There is one flag reserved for each of the victims killed in the attacks. All together they will cover about 2 1/2 acres at Murfee Elementary and neighboring Kastman Park as "An American Tribute." The flags will fly for two days, September 10th and 11th.

Volunteers are still needed for assembling and placing the flags and to help during the ceremony on September 11th. To volunteer, please call the Volunteer Line at (806) 789-3524.
