Irrigation companies sentenced for bilking federal program

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Three South Plains irrigations companies are sentenced to probation after admitting last year to inflating the costs of participating in a U.S. Department of Agriculture conservation program. 

Lamesa Irrigation Company, Mesa Irrigation Company, and New Home-Wilson Irrigation Company must pay $50,000 each in restitution. Only the companies themselves were charged, not the individuals running the companies.
