Police report gives new insight into firing of former pre-school teacher

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We have new developments in an on-going investigation involving a former staffer at a Lubbock church's pre-school.

KCBD NewsChannel11 first brought you this story on Monday. Friday we obtained a police report in reference to the former Oakwood Methodist pre-school employee accused of acting inappropriately towards children.

The police report confirms allegations that the suspect engaged in sexual contact with an unknown number of children under the age of 17.

According to the police report, the suspect confessed to sexual contact with these children. The suspect is in jail on federal charges related to the offense.

The preschool fired the employee and is cooperating with law enforcement. Lubbock police are also investigating the case and says they have not charged the suspect. We cannot confirm if federal charges have been filed.

Oakwood Methodist says the allegations of improper conduct occurred off duty, away from the premises and in a private home. 

We have learned more information in this case however that information has not been released by officials. Officials tell us some of this sealed information could become available in the coming days.
