Huge overnight fire burns at Lubbock's Raleigh Place

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock firefighters were called to the Raleigh Place Apartments, 4411 21st Wednesday morning for a major fire.

The original report was that the fire was in the Green Gables, nearby, which was the site of another massive fire thought to be arson back in October.

There is no word yet on the cause of Wednesday's fire, but there is certainly an indication of its size and intensity.  Video by KCBD NewsChannel 11 Photojournalist Ruben Villareal shows entire buildings completely engulfed in flames, enough to light up the night sky.

Firefighters were still actively battling the fire just before 5:00 AM.  As of 7:15 AM they were still on the scene getting to and putting out hot spots.  The original call-out was about 2:00 AM.

There have so far been no reports of injuries.
