LPD arrests burglary suspect after chase

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A chase through central Lubbock Wednesday afternoon landed one man behind bars. Danny Cook, 41, is charged with evading arrest, burglary, and fleeing the scene of an accident.

Police say they tried to pull Cook over around 4:00 p.m.  Investigators say his vehicle had been associated with several burglaries.

Police say Cook wouldn't stop and was involved in two traffic accidents before he crashed his car in the front yard of a home near 41st Street and University Avenue. Police say he then took off on foot, but they caught up with him a short time later.

"The only individual, that we're aware of, that was injured in this was the individual who was taken into custody by the officer," Lubbock Police Sergeant Chris Breunig said. 

Investigators say Cook could face additional charges.
