The Children's Advocacy Center of the South Plains invited the community to rally for children at LeRoy Elmore Park Saturday afternoon.
"Being number one in the state per capita in confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect, the other big thing is that we're twice the rate of other regions in the state. And we all need to stand up for children." says, Carmen Aguirre of the Children's Advocacy Center.
The Center asked participants to hold signs with information about all 783 children the center helped last year. Not only was the rally for the children, but the people who attended the rally enjoyed free food and entertainment and the chance t win a free cruise from National Travel.
The event was sponsored by Suddenlink and National Travel.
