The Lubbock man accused of robbing Lubbock National Bank on December 31st pleaded guilty Friday to Bank Robbery. Carlton Taylor will be sentenced at a later date to no more than 20 years in prison.
Court records say Taylor walked into the LNB branch at 1001 Main Street and handed the teller a note. While Taylor did not show a weapon, court records say he put his hand in his pocket, which the teller understood to be Taylor's way of saying he had a weapon. Taylor took roughly $11,000 and walked away. He was arrested a few days later.
The teller was able to identify Taylor because he was a customer of Lubbock National. So, police and the FBI were able to name Taylor within minutes of the robbery and ask for the general public's help in locating him.
