Your probably asking yourself why was Lubbock chosen for this special event. American State Bank made all of this possible, after seeing a similar tribute in Salt Lake City, Utah. And the man behind last year's 9/11 Tribute in Utah, commemorated the event in Lubbock.
David Swenson says he and his brother started the flag tribute in Salt Lake City to show how great the loss on 9/11 was. David Swenson, Salt Lake City Coordinator, "He came up with my idea of doing something to show enormity of loss and because we were in the flag business we happened to have several thousand flags."
American State Bank thought bringing the tribute to Lubbock would be an excellent way to bring the community together.
