This year the event falls on September 11th, so the Fiestas is celebrating heroes of the past, present, and future.
Festivities continue through Sunday at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center and include a carnival, food, and music from all cultures.
Admission is $5, but children two and under get in free. Proceeds benefit the new Hispanic Cultural Center.
